Privacy Policy

Last updated: Date of Launch

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you visit or make a purchase from www.hellokicks.in (the "Site"). It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 of India, along with the applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Who we are

The Site and the brand "Hello Kicks" are owned and operated by Everyday Consumer Brands Private Limited (referred to as "we", "us", or "our" in this policy).

Under India's data protection law, we act as the Data Fiduciary for your personal data, and you are the Data Principal. This means we decide why and how your personal data is processed, and we are responsible for protecting it.

Registered office: B-82, Sector 63, Noida, Gautam Budha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh 201301.

Scope

This policy applies to personal data we process when you interact with our Site, place an order, create an account, contact our support team, or engage with our marketing. It also covers personal data we may collect offline, for example at events, and later use to serve you on our Site. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to, which have their own privacy policies.

The personal data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data.

Device and usage data. Your IP address, browser type and version, time zone, device identifiers, cookie data, the pages and products you view, search terms, and how you navigate the Site. This is collected automatically using cookies and similar technologies.

Order and account data. Your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and order history. Payment information such as card or bank details is handled directly by our checkout and payment partners and is not stored on our servers.

Customer support data. The contents of your messages to us, your contact details, and any information you choose to share when you seek help, request a return, or raise a complaint.

Marketing and communication data. Your preferences for receiving marketing from us, and your interactions with our emails, messages, and advertisements.

Offline data. Information you provide to us at events or other offline touchpoints, which we may use to serve you better on our Site.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data beyond what is required to process a payment through our payment partner.

Why we use your personal data

We use your personal data to:

  • Load and display the Site correctly and keep it secure.
  • Process and fulfil your orders, arrange shipping, and send order confirmations and invoices.
  • Process payments and screen orders for fraud or risk.
  • Provide customer support and handle returns, refunds, and complaints.
  • Send you marketing communications about our products, offers, and services, where you have opted in.
  • Understand and improve how the Site is used.
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate uses as permitted under the Act, and our legal obligations. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time (see "Your rights" below). Withdrawing consent will not affect processing already carried out while your consent was valid, and it may mean we can no longer provide certain services to you.

Cookies and tracking technologies

When you visit our Site, cookies and similar technologies become active to help the Site work and to help us understand and improve your experience. Some are essential and are always on. Others, such as analytics and advertising technologies, are also active when you arrive on the Site. You can control or switch these off at any time using the options described below.

Essential cookies (always on). These keep the Site working, remember what is in your cart, and let you check out quickly and securely. The Site cannot function properly without them, so they are always active.

Analytics. When you visit, we use analytics tools to understand how people use our Site, for example which pages are popular and where visitors get stuck. This helps us fix issues and make the Site easier to use. It is about improving your experience, not identifying you personally.

Advertising. When you visit, we use advertising tools such as pixels to understand which of our products may interest you, so the shoe care content and offers you see on other platforms are relevant to you rather than random. Opting out of this does not affect your ability to shop with us.

How to control these. You can manage or block cookies at any time through your browser settings, though blocking some may affect how the Site works. You can also opt out of analytics and advertising tracking through the opt-out tools offered by the analytics and advertising providers we use. Please note that blocking cookies in your browser may not stop all data sharing with these partners, so we recommend also using their opt-out tools.

How we share your personal data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only to the extent needed. These include:

  • Shopify, which powers our online store, hosting, and store operations. You can read Shopify's privacy practices at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
  • Shopflo, our checkout and payments partner, which processes your order and payment details to give you a fast and secure checkout.
  • Payment gateways, to process your payments securely.
  • Shipping and logistics partners, to deliver your orders. These partners receive the details needed to complete delivery, such as your name, address, and phone number.
  • Analytics providers, to help us understand and improve how the Site is used.
  • Advertising partners, to show you relevant products.
  • Communication tools, to send you the emails, messages, and other communications you have opted in to.

We may also disclose your personal data where required to comply with applicable law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or to protect our legal rights.

Where we engage service providers, we do so under contracts that require them to protect your personal data and process it only on our instructions.

Retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to fulfil your orders, provide support, and meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations. When we no longer need your data, we will delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to erase your data earlier, subject to any legal requirement we may have to retain it.

How we protect your data

We take reasonable security safeguards to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. These include technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk. While we work to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Where your data is processed

Our platform provider, Shopify, and some of our other service providers may store and process your personal data on servers located outside India, under appropriate contractual and technical safeguards. We will only transfer personal data to countries other than those restricted by the Central Government of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

Your rights as a Data Principal

Under India's data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and a summary of how we process it.
  • Correct, complete, or update your personal data.
  • Erase your personal data where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
  • Nominate another individual to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
  • Grievance redressal, meaning a readily available means to raise a complaint with us.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timelines required under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

Children

Our products are general shoe care items, and the Site and checkout are intended for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18 without the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not knowingly carry out behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Personal data breach

If a personal data breach affects your personal data, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected individuals in the manner and within the timelines required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.
